Severe Storms Likely On Tuesday

A severe weather outbreak is possible from North Central Texas to Kansas on Tuesday afternoon. While there is only a isolated chance in Central Texas, any storms that develop will be capable of significant severe weather including large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

Severe Weather Possible This Weekend

There is a risk for isolated severe storms this afternoon in Central Texas. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 9:00pm for all of Central Texas. There will also be a risk of severe weather on Sunday afternoon especially across the north western half of Central Texas.

There will be a slight chance for severe weather Friday afternoon and evening in Central Texas. The main threats will be damaging winds and hail, but could not rule out a brief tornado if any storm becomes more discrete.
Chance For Severe Weather On Wednesday

As a strong upper level disturbance moves closer to the central/southern plains it will bring a risk of severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center issued the image above showing the percentage of severe weather. The risk with any severe storm will include large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

The picture above was a tornado just north of Coolidge, TX on April 25, 2011 There were a total of 21 tornadoes which occurred on 4/25/2011 & 4/26/2011 in Central/North Texas. Here is the map link for the tornado tracks from the National Weather Service.

As a cold front moves across Central Texas on Sunday there will be a chance for scattered thunderstorms, some which could be severe. The main threats will be from hail, high wind and an isolated/brief tornado risk could not be ruled out with storms along the front.
