The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9:00 PM for portions of far southwest Oklahoma and western/northwest Texas. Hail to 2 inches in diameter, thunderstorm wind gust to 70 MPH and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas mainly north of I-20. To see the latest radar go to our LIVE-WX page.

There is a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon through the overnight hours across most of North Texas. We our currently seeing showers and some thunderstorms non severe across Central Texas this morning. Tropical Storm Helene

The Air Force Hurricane Hunter Aircraft investigated the remnants of Tropical Depression Seven and found a well-defined circulation once again. The system is now upgraded to Tropical Storm Helene with an intensity of 45 MPH. Helene is located about 90 miles east southeast of Tuxpan Mexico and moving north west at 7 MPH. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of southern Oklahoma and north-central Texas until 11:00 PM. Main threats are hail to 2 inches in diameter, thunderstorm wind gust to 70 MPH and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.

Tropical Depression 7 forms in the Atlantic

A new Tropical Depression has formed in the Atlantic with sustained winds at 35 MPH and gusts up to 45 MPH. The depression is moving west at 20 MPH and forecast to become a Tropical Storm by Friday afternoon.

Hurricane Ernesto

Air Force Hurricane Hunters find that Ernesto has become a Hurricane with maximum sustained winds at 80 MPH. Ernesto is moving west northwest at 14 MPH about 185 miles east of Chetumal Mexico.                                            Continue Reading

Update on Tropical Storm Ernesto

Poorly organized Ernesto is moving rapidly westward at 23 MPH about 210 miles south of Kingston Jamaica. Maximum sustained winds are still at 50 MPH and the latest forecast models has the track to hit Mexico.
