01/31/11 @ 8:29pm | Posted by Adam Cuker under Winter Weather...

The image above shows the amount of sleet and snow accumulations across the area; starting tonight traveling in theses areas will be treacherous. The Waco, Temple, Killeen area should see a rain/sleet mix in the morning with light glazing possible on elevated surfaces.  Be careful on bridges and overpasses as the temperatures will be dropping throughout the day on Tuesday.

Arctic Blast

01/30/11 @ 10:32pm | Posted by Adam Cuker under Winter Weather...

The Arctic Cold Front is set to come through Central Texas on Tuesday morning. This will bring some scattered thunderstorms, some which could become strong to severe with the main threats being large hail and strong winds. Temperatures will drop fast behind the cold front so there will be a sleet and snow mix in North Central Texas. From Tuesday night through Thursday night expect highs in the 30′s and lows in the teens. Take proper precautions and protect your water pipes and bring in the pets.

There is a slight risk of severe storms tonight across south and southeast Texas, with the primary threat being hail.  The majority of thunder storms will be located along the I-10 corridor with just a few isolated storms across the Brazos Valley.
