Severe Weather Starting Today

As a powerful upper level low is approaching Texas we will see a few severe storms this afternoon/evening across west Texas northward to western Kansas. As this system moves eastward on Monday there will be a risk of severe storms from Mid Missouri Valley southwestward to the lower Rio Grande Valley.

As the next upper level low approaches we could see multiple days of severe weather in the southern plains. D4 is where severe weather could be possible on Sunday and D5 being Monday.

There is a minimum risk of severe weather Thursday afternoon/evening as a cold front and upper level low moves across the region. A few storms could become severe with hail and high winds being the main threat. High rainfall totals are possible mainly east of I-35 as this will be a slow moving upper level disturbance.
