EF-4 Damage Confirmed in Atanta, LA

An EF-4 tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service in Shreveport, LA. The tornado touched down near the intersection of Collier and Water Well road 4 miles west of Atlanta, LA at 3:12 PM CST on November 29, 2010. The tornado then crossed Gum Springs road where it completely destroyed a two story brick home. A nearby mobile home was destroyed, two other homes moderately damaged and one home sustained minor damage. The tornado snapped numerous trees along its path and lifted about 2 miles NNW of Winnfield. The maximum estimated winds were 170 mph with a path length of 14 miles and a path width of 400 yards.
